About
Very Many Players is a Fabric mod that improves Minecraft server performance at high player counts while aiming to preserve vanilla behavior. It optimizes server-side work such as nearby-player lookups and packet delivery, entity tracking and collision iteration, fluid and ingredient lookups, and ticket propagation. Its networking changes include a custom chunk-sending mechanism with optional packet-level rate limiting, per-player render distance, and more responsive vanilla TCP connections through packet prioritization. The mod also replaces a client-side time source with Java’s built-in source to avoid GLFW JNI calls.
