Explore eerie Backrooms levels in a found footage horror adventure.

SpacePotato Backrooms Revamped is a lightweight horror modpack for exploring the Backrooms, built around SPB-Revamped and focused on unsettling atmosphere rather than unrelated additions. Players enter by suffocating in the Overworld, then explore procedurally generated environments including Level 0’s yellow corridors, Level 1’s foggy concrete parking structure, Level 2’s long industrial passage, the tiled and water-filled Poolrooms, and the open grassland of the Infinite Field. Progress means navigating each level to find its exit: routes include descending stairs, while Level 2 eventually triggers a transition through the floor, and the Infinite Field requires finding a concrete structure with a staircase back to the Overworld. The levels use visual and audio effects to build tension, from Level 0 blackouts and distorted intercom messages to the Poolrooms’ echoing water sounds and flashlights that stop working there. Threats include Skinwalkers, which can impersonate a player’s appearance, recorded speech, and movements before transforming, and Smilers that emerge in darkness, including during Level 1 blackouts. Crates in Levels 0 and 1 can contain Backshrooms and canned food, offering limited hunger restoration with a chance of nausea or poisoning. Simple Voice Chat supports multiplayer communication, while Essential provides friend invites and a straightforward way to host games with others.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Fabric, 9 May 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 26 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 26 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (9 May 2025) in the 25 mods we checked.
3 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
1 mod is not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
