Crash Assistant is a client-side troubleshooting mod that opens a GUI after Minecraft crashes, including early startup failures, and gathers available game and launcher logs, crash reports, and JVM error files in one place. It analyzes logs for known problems and presents explanations and repair guidance, covering issues such as missing or conflicting mod dependencies, duplicated mods, Mixin errors, memory exhaustion, GPU and driver problems, and corrupted installations. For some diagnoses it offers one-click fixes, such as locating incompatible Create or Epic Fight addons, finding mods that rely on a missing class, or addressing certain launcher and mapping problems. The GUI also includes tools to identify MCreator-made mods, search mods for a Java class or package, and inspect which mods depend on a class or package; it can warn when Minecraft is using integrated graphics despite a dedicated GPU being available. Users can drag and drop log files, or explicitly upload available logs to mclo.gs and copy a shareable link with a message formatted for reporting; uploads occur only after the user chooses to upload. For modpack support, it can direct players to a configured help community and track mod-list changes, including which mods a player added, removed, or updated relative to the pack.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 4 areas: User interfaceChanges 1 game code file in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay., PlayerChanges 1 game code file in this area: your character: movement, abilities, hunger and controls., Game coreChanges 1 game code file in this area: the main loop, lighting and other code the whole game uses. and Server and world logicChanges 1 game code file in this area: the world, commands, scoreboards, saved data and game rules..
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
Sends unknown data
Sent to api.curseforge.com and api.modrinth.com.
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images, code history and pull requests and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
