A spooky adventure where you hunt strange creatures.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 66 graded mods, 45 are graded A or B, 14 C and 7 D to F. Its last update came out 20 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
SSCD: The Dark Lands is a horror-adventure modpack that sends players into a foggy, dangerous world to investigate dark creatures on behalf of a scientist. Players can choose to flee, kill the creatures, or weaken and capture them with the Hostile Lasso. Encounters include the Cave Dweller lurking in caves, Aquamirae creatures in the deep ocean, and the Nightmare and Corrupted Champion associated with The Graveyard. The investigations lead players to follow creature-specific clues, such as finding a ship and sounding a horn near water, assembling a staff to reach a sky island, or searching a cult room for Villager 32. Other threats include a creature that appears during the night, a pursuer that emerges in extreme darkness, and a figure that appears during storms.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 3 Mar 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 12 Nov 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 66 of its 69 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of 64 of its 67 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 5 of the 59 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
8 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
