A horror modpack with dark nights, eerie fog, and strange structures.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 29 graded mods, 18 are graded A or B, 8 C and 3 D to F. Its last update came out 14 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
TAPE_37 is a horror modpack built around an unsettling, immersive return to an old server, where the slow-loading chunks feel as though they remember you. Its visual style evokes older, high-contrast textures, with noisy, recovered-looking graphics, heavy fog and faint VHS fragments. Nights become pitch-black, making torches and staying in lit areas important, while mysterious structures scattered through the world suggest someone was there before you. A custom soundtrack by Ludocrypt supports the atmosphere, and Herobrine has altered reactions and interactions with the world.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 20 Aug 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 31 Jul 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked all 30 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 28 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 1 of the 24 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in it, or its author declared AI content.
4 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
