The Witherstorm is a survival modpack built around the Minecraft Story Mode Wither Storm, a mutated Wither that grows as it destroys the world and relentlessly pursues the nearest player. The adventure begins at a fixed abandoned shack containing basic loot and clues to summon the storm; after it appears, players must gear up while it follows them and consumes nearby blocks, making a permanent base unsafe. When close, the storm can pull players in with a tractor beam, which can be broken by shooting its eye with an arrow or punching it. Progression includes fighting the Withered Symbiont, a mutant mini-boss vulnerable from behind that drops a command-powered book, which can be combined with a diamond tool at a smithing table to make a weapon. Players then craft Super TNT and a timed Formidi-Bomb to confront the storm, but the apparent victory makes matters worse: the storm returns with two smaller storms. The later fight requires a diamond weapon made with another Symbiont's command book and a chance to enter a hole formed inside the storm at its final phase. Inside the storm, players traverse a tunnel to reach the command block and battle through waves of sickened mobs, attacking tentacles, a Symbiont, and tractor-beam-pulling heads before striking the command block for the final time. Defeating the storm teleports players out and awards a special Nether Star. Alongside the Witherstorm content, the pack includes Create, Immersive Engineering, Quark, Goblin Traders, backpacks, furniture, roof-building options, Story Mode armor, and utility mods such as JourneyMap and JEI.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 1 Aug 2022). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 24 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
1 mod sends something about you
We read the code of all 24 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 19 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
5 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
