A Wither Storm modpack with smoother play and better-looking mobs.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 27 graded mods, 24 are graded A or B, 3 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 23 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Wither Storm Neo is a lightweight modpack built around Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod, aiming to improve the experience without changing its overall gameplay. It adds performance and usability tools, including graphics optimizations, faster world generation, reduced XP-orb clutter, food information, searchable controls, recipe lookup, and block details. For the Wither Storm and other visuals, TAW/TAW+ updates models and animations toward Minecraft: Story Mode, while VN4’s Fresh Wither Storm improves the storm’s textures and animations; the pack also revamps its boss bar and mob animations. Ambient sound effects, more dimensional-looking foliage, cloth-like cape movement, and cave sound effects add atmosphere, with Simple Voice Chat available for in-game proximity conversations. Shader support is included but disabled by default, with Complementary and BSL supplied; Terralith adds biomes without introducing new blocks, and Lost Cities is available as an optional world type. The pack also includes e4mc for sharing a LAN world with friends.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · NeoForge, 24 Nov 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 23 Nov 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 28 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
2 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 24 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 3 of the 24 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
