BetterNether: New Dawn is an independently maintained, unofficial continuation of BetterNether that keeps its Nether expansion maintained across supported loaders and versions, with bug fixes, compatibility work, and selected balance and quality-of-life changes. It expands Nether exploration with new biomes, plants, mobs, materials, recipes, food, tools, structures, and building blocks, including dark creature-filled dungeons and large, rare Nether Cities. A distinctive addition is Gloomwood, a dark, sculk-covered Nether forest with Bleached, Veined, and Molten Gloomsculk terrain, varied trees and vegetation, crystals, geodes, vines, glowing Gloomwisps, and its own ambient music. Gloomwood appears in natural groves, sparse edges, and solitary trees; rare Bleached trees have inverted foliage, while Ancient Debris can be found beneath their roots and near the biome ceiling. World generation also includes massive, multi-chunk lava lakes and giant tree growth, while the wider mod supports vertical and volumetric biomes and compatibility with other biome mods and datapacks. New materials and farmable resources support survival progression, while creatures such as the Naga and new tools give players additional challenges and ways to improve their chances in the Nether. Builders can use Gloomwood and Dark Gloomwood building sets, boats and chest boats, furniture, containers, signs, decorative blocks, and chiseled bookshelves for BetterNether wood sets. The mod also adds biome music tracks and collectible discs, advancements, visual and sound effects, and configurable options for the presence of biomes, structures, blocks, items, and plant density.

No harmful code found
We checked its files without running them.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We have not read its code yet
The file checks found no code that connects to the internet.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images, sounds and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
