About
Beyond the Veil is a story-driven Lovecraftian mod about the player’s journey toward Truth, unfolding through research entries that pair occult knowledge with narration. Learning about the occult opens new branches of magic and science, including Dreaming, otherworldly flora, surgery, blood practices and artifacts, as well as paths involving worship, devotion and becoming Deep. The story centers on the Fishing Hamlet, a semi-rare structure in the Overworld’s darkest biomes, where the Dwellers’ secrets connect to a wider tale that also features ancient city builders who serve as a dangerous race. The player’s journey begins after their first return from the Nether, when they receive Al Azif, the book that stores the mod’s knowledge.
