About
AbyssalCraft is an exploration and dark-magic mod that expands the Overworld and takes players into four linked dimensions, drawing on undead themes and Lovecraftian horrors. In the Overworld, six new biomes include the purple-grassed Darklands, its plains, forest, highland and Darkstone mountain variants, and the Coralium Infested Swamp, rich in Coralium and underground Liquid Antimatter. The mod adds creatures such as Depths Ghouls and Abyssal Zombies, hostile counterparts of pigs, cows and chickens, increasingly powerful Living Shadows, and Lesser Shoggoths, alongside bosses and other dimension-specific mobs. The Abyssal Wasteland is a green, undead-filled realm; the red Dreadlands teem with mutated beings; Omothol has floating islands and a city where players face the final boss, J’zahar; and the shadow-populated Dark Realm lies beneath Omothol. Gateway Keys open portals to these dimensions, while the Necronomicon serves as both a guide to the mod and a catalyst for rituals. Rituals use an altar, pedestals and offerings to create or infuse items, summon creatures and bosses, or apply potion effects to nearby entities; they draw on the mod’s Potential Energy system. Exploration and ritual progression are supported by new ores, materials, tools, armor, food, machines, explosives, enchantments and potion effects, as well as statues of Great Old Ones and blocks used in the energy system. AbyssalCraft also provides configuration options for tuning some of its more destructive elements.
