Hunting Monsters: The Witcher Modpack is a standalone, Witcher-inspired dark fantasy adventure in which players take the role of Witchers hired to hunt monsters for rewards; it uses original characters, world rules, and lore rather than closely following the source canon. Its custom content includes more than 250 monster-hunting quests, nearly 300 naturally generating structures, Witcher schools with distinct armor, and a custom Witcher Signs system. The quest book supplies monster bounties, including hunts for Lunkertooth, Drowned, Enigmoth, and the bosses Lamentor and Hierophant, alongside quests for Witcher gear. Exploration spans dangerous locations such as the Betweenlands, Atum’s desert world, Nether dungeons, and naturally generated Witcher school sites including Kaer Morhen, Kaer Seren, and Haern Caduch. Combat and preparation matter: the pack is less forgiving than vanilla, and its steel and silver swords serve different roles, with silver swords able to kill Betweenlands mobs that appear in the Overworld. Players can develop different Witcher-school fighting styles through armor and gear, with six school armor sets and additional swords supporting varied strategies. The world also features ocean biomes, underwater monsters, and bosses, broadening hunts beyond the land-based threats.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 9 Nov 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 25 Mar 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 182 of its 183 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of 182 of its 183 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 1 of the 87 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in it, or its author declared AI content.
96 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
