About
CERBON's Better Beacons expands Minecraft’s beacon with redesigned interface options, additional effects, configurable behavior, and new advancements. Its two interface choices let you view tertiary effects and the current payment item, or use an option without tertiary effects; the tertiary effects require a level-five beacon. Copper can be used to build and activate a beacon, and the payment item also affects its range, from copper at the weakest end to netherite at the strongest. Beacon base blocks can strengthen primary effects, with gold, emerald, copper, diamond, netherite, and iron among the blocks shown for constructing the pyramid. New effects include Night Vision and Fire Resistance, plus Long Reach for interacting with blocks farther away, Phantom Bane to prevent phantoms spawning within range, and Patrol Bane to prevent patrols spawning there. Amethyst clusters can redirect the beam, while tinted glass changes its opacity and can make it invisible; the beacon must still point toward the sky to function. The mod also lets players cancel active beacon effects and adds waterlogging and redstone conductivity. Datapacks can adjust the range granted by payment items and the strength granted by base blocks, and can add items or blocks from other mods to those systems.
