Dangerous sandstorms sweep across deserts and make travel harder.

Desert Storms adds dangerous, multi-phase sandstorms to desert and badlands environments, including many modded arid biomes. Storms build gradually, with distant clouds, wind, sounds, and atmospheric changes warning players before a naturally triggered storm begins; they then intensify or weaken through five phases, bringing increasingly dense fog, reduced visibility, strong winds, and, in the most severe phases, lightning. The storms affect the world as well as its appearance: wind pushes players and mobs, carries dropped items, and deflects arrows and other projectiles, while animals, villagers, and some passive mobs seek shelter and hostile mobs have trouble spotting distant targets through heavy dust. Roofs, walls, and protection from the wind reduce storm effects, and deep caves remain clear of storm fog and airborne sand. Strong winds carry sticks, dry branches, leaf clumps, gravel, sandstone fragments, and tumbleweeds through the air, while the strongest storms can leave limited thin sand drifts on exposed natural terrain. Storms also bring changing, muffled or exposed-area ambience, occasional debris impacts, and lightning flashes with distance-based screen shake; players can optionally enable coordinate scrambling that makes displayed positions unreliable during a storm. A pause-menu configuration screen provides graphics presets and settings for clouds, fog, particles, debris, darkness, sound, lightning flashes, camera shake, and navigation interference, alongside server controls for storm duration, wind, mob behavior, sand accumulation, and automatic triggering. The mod supports vanilla desert and badlands variants and can recognize or be configured for modded arid biomes, with named compatibility for Biomes O' Plenty and Terralith.

Adds 1 block and 21 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
