Dynamic Difficulty is a configurable mob-leveling system for adventure modpacks, intended to keep encounters challenging as players grow stronger. It assigns levels to mobs using settings such as distance from a spawn point, depth or height, in-game days, local difficulty, random bonuses, entity-specific starting levels, and the strength of nearby players. Dimensions, biomes, structures, and individual entities can each alter or override leveling rules; for example, a dungeon can have a flat level range, while a biome can add a level bonus and its own attribute scaling. Level-based attributes can change health, attack damage, armor, movement speed, and other configured stats, with caps and bonus rules adjustable for each setting. The mod includes presets for popular modded worlds and content, including The Aether, Twilight Forest, Ice and Fire: Dragons, L_Ender's Cataclysm, When Dungeons Arise, and YUNG's Better Strongholds; pack makers can edit these or define their own settings with datapacks. Mobs display their level beside their name, with colors indicating estimated difficulty relative to the player, and entering leveled areas can show an area name and level title. Leveled mobs can drop tiered potions and crystals, including Potion of Growth, Elixir of Nurturing, Draught of Ascension, Essence of Vitality, and Crystal of Awakening, which are used to level up pets or other mobs. Level-gated loot rules let pack makers add drops for specific mob-level ranges, while integrations can incorporate player skill points into mob levels or show additional tier information from mods such as Apotheosis and Dungeon Difficulty.

Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files without running them.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends, in the 6 of its 8 files we read
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

More modpacks put it in their new versions than a year ago: 23 a month now, 2 a year agoThe average of the last 6 months, compared with the same 6 months a year before. We say it only when the change is large..

In the last 2 years, 18 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 7 points.
