A long adventure where you unlock new ages and face tougher bosses.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 591 graded mods, 503 are graded A or B, 79 C and 9 D to F. Its last update came out 8 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.21.1. See the mods
Ascension of Ages is a long-form progression modpack that organizes play into eight gated ages, with a quest-led campaign tying together technology, magic, weapon forging, and survival through custom recipes and staged unlocks. Boss encounters are required milestones, while mobs scale with the ages and use more predatory hunting behavior, making survival part of the progression rather than a separate activity. The questbook guides players through themed paths, including Renaissance tracks for blood magic and Nether progression, Create steam and rail logistics, cooking and recordkeeping, and Spectrum and Mahou Tsukai; later paths bring together industrial systems such as Create, TFMG, Oritech, and Mekanism. Neo Vitae provides the required blood-magic progression through altars and rites, while Silent Gear adds staged forging, grading, salvaging, and starmetal materials. Exploration includes large-scale fantasy world generation drawing on Tectonic, Terralith, Regions Unexplored, and Biomes We’ve Gone, alongside modded villages and new creatures and companions across the Overworld, End, and aquatic environments. The pack also reshapes Nether travel with intense heat and hot water, supported by a Waterskin that can be filled, poured, and cooled in an Icebox. Its curated collection includes familiar technology mods such as Create, Applied Energistics 2, and Mekanism alongside less commonly used additions, with cross-mod recipes and rewards linking their systems into the campaign.
Written from CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge, 3 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 11 Aug 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 591 of its 594 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
13 mods send something about you
We read the code of 576 of its 580 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 10 of the 488 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
41 other mods show AI use only from after this release (3 Sep 2026), so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
92 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
