About
Ecliptic Seasons is a seasonal environment mod inspired by the traditional Chinese 24 Solar Terms, giving Minecraft a year-round cycle of four seasons and twenty-four gradual seasonal periods. As the calendar advances, daylight length, climate, weather, vegetation, wildlife, and ambient effects change, with seasonal colors, sounds, particles, and block appearances shaping the world. Weather follows seasonal and regional patterns, allowing prolonged rain or snowfall, while snow accumulates and melts gradually according to conditions rather than appearing all at once at winter’s start. The seasons can affect crop growth and animal breeding, and humidity adds another factor to farming; greenhouses let players protect crops when outdoor conditions are unfavorable. Players and server owners can configure how strongly seasons affect a world, from environmental scenery and weather to ecological changes and more involved farming and survival effects. Configuration files, datapacks, and resource packs support further customization, including seasonal crop, biome, climate, snow, texture, and foliage-color behavior. With suitable integrations for supported distant-terrain renderers, seasonal scenery can also appear on faraway forests and mountains beyond normal render distance.
