Fallen Gems & Affixes

Fallen Gems & Affixes expands and reworks Apotheosis Ascended’s gear-customization systems, adding new content while also polishing or removing parts of the original. Its progression centers on rarity-tiered sockets that accept gems of matching rarity, with a configurable option to let lower-tier gems fit higher-tier sockets; a Catalyst Socket can instead combine an item’s sockets into one and scale gem power by the number consumed. Players can build power further with Augments, an endgame tier above gems: obtain them from Fabled Universal Bosses, convert gem sockets into Crest Slots with a Sigil of Ascension, then apply Augments at a smithing table. The Augments offer distinct tradeoffs and synergies: Empowerment boosts gem power, Supremacy boosts affix power, Genesis starts power low and increases it as unique bosses are defeated, and Convergence links gem and affix power; Malice randomly favors one at the expense of the other, while Duality and Cascade reshape critical hits. Fabled Reforging adds a set affix without replacing an item’s existing affixes, and equipping multiple pieces from the same set unlocks additional passive bonuses. The Trickster set uses Shadow Clones that attack enemies, protect or buff the wearer, and trigger effects on death; Colossus builds Bastion Orbs by taking or blocking hits, then turns them into shockwaves and defensive benefits; Deadeye builds Focus through attacks for burst damage, executes, and mobility. Affix Scrolls carry one random affix based on the enemy’s tier and can add it to compatible equipment at an anvil, up to two scroll affixes per item; they can also be salvaged for rarity materials. Hostile mobs can become configurable Universal Bosses with rarity-based stats, entity affixes such as Thorns, Shadow Step, Regeneration, and Hunter, and drops including Affix Scrolls, enchants, and Gem Dust. The mod adds Cataclysm boss gems, including Ignis’s Infernal Overlord and Scylla’s Howling Storm, as well as Ice and Fire gems such as the Abyssal Pearl, Ash of Yggdrasil, and Hydra Scale, which drops only from Hydras. Its spell-focused additions include gems that grant castable spells, spell-triggered affixes, and staff-specific affixes; it also adds bow effects such as homing, piercing, and extra arrows, alongside dedicated affixes for Scorched Guns 2 weapons. Additional sigils let players remove Augments or scroll affixes, transfer item upgrades, raise socket rarity, combine affixed items, or convert sockets into a Catalyst Socket; gem cases provide storage that accommodates new rarities. The mod integrates with Apotheosis and a broad set of content mods, including Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks, Cataclysm, Celestisynth, Ice and Fire, Alex’s Caves, Create: Dreams and Desires, Quark, and Scorched Guns 2.
