    About

    Hungering Darkness adds darkness as a survival hazard: staying in an unlit area builds a timer, and once it reaches its limit, the player takes repeated damage until they leave the danger or die. The timer rises in sufficiently dark conditions and falls when the player is no longer in them; configurable delay, damage amount, and hit frequency determine how quickly the threat escalates. A separate total-darkness threshold can shorten the time before damage begins and double its damage, while dimension-specific settings let the hazard behave differently between dimensions. Configuration also controls the relevant light level and the dimensions and biomes where the effect applies, using whitelists or, optionally, blacklists. When Game Stages is installed, prioritized stages can determine whether darkness harms a player or leaves them unaffected, and DarknessLib provides support for multiple Dynamic Light variations.
