Icy’s Better Horses turns horses into persistent companions, with ownership and a bond that grows through use, improving speed and jumping while unlocking stronger breed abilities. Horses fall into five classes that shape their speed, health, jumping, shared perks, and combat performance, and the mod adds fifteen real breeds with distinct coats, biome-based spawning, genetics, mixed-breed foals, and inherited stats and coats. Breed abilities give each horse a particular niche: Clydesdales gain stronger barding and can deflect arrows, Percherons push through terrain that slows other horses, Icelandics resist freezing and harmful potions, Mustangs detect nearby hostiles and heal, and Morgans bond faster. Mounted travel offers four gaits, auto-ride, free look, floating and faster-swimming horses, easier movement over leaves and small steps, and mounted mining; horses can also carry a second rider, with draft horses able to carry a chest alongside two riders. For commands and management, riders can whistle their active horse to return, direct owned horses to follow, stay, wander, or travel to and from a saved home, and inspect detailed horse profiles; an upgraded saddle also reveals a wild horse’s stats before taming. Breeding and equipment add further utility through gender-gated pairings, persistent genetics, and dedicated gear and items such as carts, a Glidewing Harness, horseshoes, canisters, and medkits. Mounted combat includes momentum-building charges, rear kicks, and horses defending sufficiently bonded owners, while combat behavior and other features can be adjusted through configuration. New horse models, coat textures, and animations accompany the gameplay changes, and ridden horses can fade from view when the rider looks down to keep the ground visible.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
