About
Patchouli is a standalone mod that lets Minecraft modders and modpack makers create in-game documentation books using data files, without writing code or requiring another mod. Authors can organize books into nested categories and entries, preview text in game, and use rich formatting with macros, reusable templates, and ready-made text, crafting, and image pages. Books can unlock entries through player advancements, while configuration flags can show or hide content according to settings or which mods are loaded. For building guidance, authors can define multiblock structures and display their layouts in the world. Books can be localized, customized with their own visuals and sounds, and integrated with a mod's creative tab so they appear to belong to that mod. Patchouli also integrates with vanilla recipes and advancements, and provides convenient recipe types for crafting a particular book.
