About
Localized Chat makes server text conversations local by limiting who can hear each message according to distance, rather than treating ordinary chat as global. It handles normal talk, shout, whisper through /me, and private messages through /tell, /msg, or /w as separate configurable channels, each with its own enable setting, range, and optional cost. Ranges use Manhattan distance, with -1 for unlimited range and 0 for messages heard only by the sender; limited-range communication is normally restricted to the same dimension. Channels can charge health, hunger, experience points, or combinations of them, and a message is not sent if its sender cannot pay the configured cost. Operators can either follow normal range and cost rules or bypass costs and reach everyone on their channel, and configuration can also disable or charge for other root commands such as home, RTP, and warp. The mod runs server-side, with client installation optional for LAN play, and pairs well with Simple Voice Chat.
