A survival adventure with quests, new worlds, building, and exploration.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 398 graded mods, 294 are graded A or B, 85 C and 19 D to F. Its last update came out 10 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
GenCraft is a modpack designed to add depth to building and crafting while preserving open-world survival, with progression and difficulty intended to support both styles of play without overcomplicating them. Its exploration content includes the Aether and Deeper and Darker dimensions, expanded biomes from packs such as Biomes O’ Plenty and Regions Unexplored, and generated destinations including dungeons, villages, and structures from When Dungeons Arise and YUNG’s Better Nether Fortresses. New creatures range from Alex’s Mobs, Naturalist, and Exotic Birds to Mowzie’s Mobs, while combat additions include Better Combat, Simply Swords, RPG Series weapon classes, and bosses such as those in L_Ender’s Cataclysm. For building and making, the pack combines the Create machinery and automation suite with Farmer’s Delight and its food-focused add-ons, plus decorative blocks from Chipped and Domum Ornamentum. A Create: Let’s Create quest base provides a quest framework, and the pack also includes features for farming, fishing, settlement-building, and storage through mods such as Smarter Farmers, Aquaculture 2, MineColonies, and Tom’s Simple Storage Mod. Visual enhancements include configurable shader support, distant terrain rendering with Distant Horizons, and more detailed character and creature animations, alongside resource-pack options such as Stay True and Faithless. The pack is intended for controller-friendly play, though a keyboard may still be needed for some actions, and a separate server version supports playing with friends.
Written from CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 3 Jan 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 19 Dec 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 401 of its 408 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
16 mods send something about you
We read the code of 380 of its 382 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 14 of the 326 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
56 mods are not checked yet.
1 mod can use AI in the game.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
