    About

    Malum is a dark-magic mod built around spirit arcana, a form of soul-derived magic explored through the Encyclopedia Arcana, an in-world guide that lets players choose their own path through its largely open-ended progression. The world additions include Runewood Trees, whose magical wood has a full set of building blocks, and underground deposits of Cthonic Gold, Soulstone, Brilliance, and Natural Quartz. Spirit Infusion combines arcana with physical materials to create items, while Spirit Focusing uses an Impetus to turn spirit matter into physical resources. These systems support a range of magical equipment, including trinkets, armor, tools, and weapons; individual trinkets and armor sets have distinct effects, and some can work in synergy. Totem magic uses spirit runes etched onto Runewood and paired with a Totem Base, with each valid combination of spirits producing a different effect. The mod also includes Blight, a harmless state of matter born from chaotic applications of arcana.
