About
Name Tag Upgrade makes name tags easier to manage by letting you use one to open an edit screen and rename it on the go, without an anvil or experience cost. The editor supports formatting codes for colored and styled names, including bold and italics. Using a tag on a mob that already has the same name does not consume it, and renaming an already named mob returns the previous name tag. You can use shears on a named mob to remove its custom name and recover the matching name tag, while named mobs can also drop their tag when they die. Applying a name tag also plays a sound effect.
