About
Pet Bats adds tameable bats that follow their owner and stay nearby when not fighting, but remain in their last location if the owner leaves the server. They look for places to hang and stay within their current area; attacks, a nearby foreign player, breaking their hanging block, or dropping pumpkin pie can startle them. A bat gains levels by dealing damage, increasing its health and damage; at level three it gains life steal, and at maximum level it gets enchantment visuals. Pumpkin pie can heal a hurt bat, either by crafting it with the bat or dropping freshly dropped pie nearby, and a bat that has been defeated returns as an item to its owner and must be fed before flying again. Handheld bats grant night vision, while a pet that gets stuck can teleport into its owner's inventory if the owner moves far away; that inventory is not safe if the owner dies. Bats are vulnerable to fire, lava, and explosions, and if one dies while its owner is off the server it is lost for good.
