ReArm: Combat Overhaul

ReArm overhauls Minecraft combat while aiming to keep its changes in keeping with the game, reworking weapon behavior, armor progression, and enchantments rather than adding an unrelated combat style. Bows reward timing and movement: releasing a fully drawn bow within a short window triggers a higher-damage Perfect Shot, marked by an arrow trail and higher-pitched firing sound, while the Quickstep enchantment lets players dash in their direction of travel after hitting a target with an arrow. Multishot is now bow-only, with three levels adding up to five arrows that can hit the same target at once; bows can also be upgraded to fire-resistant netherite versions with greater durability and a new appearance. Crossbows deliver consistent arrow damage, and their Piercing enchantment can bypass some enemy armor; stronger fireworks provide another combat option, while a longer default loading time balances their increased damage. Crossbows can also use Power and Infinity and be upgraded to netherite, while Multishot has been moved to bows. Swords gain a Critical Counter that rewards attacking shortly after blocking with a shield, and Sweeping Edge scales its damage and reach with its level and the number of enemies struck; axes can instead use the Crippling Throw enchantment to stick in and slow an enemy, then be recalled to inflict bleeding. Tridents with Impaling can damage any mob in water or rain, and Loyalty returns them to the hand they were thrown from, even if the player enters the Void. Shields can parry a projectile back at its shooter when raised just before impact, or use the Bash enchantment to knock enemies away and deal minor damage; netherite shields have greater durability, fire resistance, and a distinct look. Armor defense scales linearly from leather through copper or gold, iron or chainmail, diamond, and netherite, while toughness comes from protection enchantments and every armor tier gains knockback resistance. Players can apply up to two different protection enchantments per armor set: Melee Protection covers close-range physical damage, Elemental Protection covers fire, lightning, and freezing, and the new Magic Protection covers magic attacks; armor from other mods is automatically adjusted to the rebalance. A hotbar progress bar shows the charge state of bows, crossbows, axes, and tridents, including the bow's Perfect Shot timing window. The mod also makes sneaking reduce mob detection range more effectively, offers configurable tweaks such as Infinity bows and crossbows not requiring an arrow and crafting tipped arrows with regular potions, and fixes selected vanilla combat bugs. Combat settings are extensively configurable, from toggling whole features to adjusting damage, cooldowns, and timing values.
