    Salty's Realistic Forging replaces simple ore smelting and tool crafting with slower, hands-on processes designed to make gathering and working materials more immersive. The mod covers iron, gold, copper, netherite, diamond, and emerald, with material-specific processing that takes resources from raw ore or rough gem through to ingots, gems, tools, weapons, or armor. Most actions are performed without menus by handling items and right-clicking, while cauldrons, stonecutters, grindstones, furnaces, and anvils serve as workstations. Ironworking can involve cleaning ore, heating it, safely handling hot metal with tongs, hammering it into shape on an anvil, and cooling it in water; tools and armor have their own additional forging and finishing steps. Other material routes differ: gold is cast in molds, copper ore is crushed before smelting, and netherite combines debris scraps with gold using lava. Diamond and emerald rough gems are cut and polished through lapidary work; diamonds can also reinforce iron equipment, while polished emeralds are finished for use as currency. The mod adds tooltips and advancements to guide players through its processes, and its changes focus on obtaining vanilla resources and equipment.
