About
Sodium Leaf Culling is a Sodium addon that reduces the rendering cost of leaves, which can be expensive to render because of their transparency. Its default Solid Aggressive mode renders the interior of large leaf masses as solid and non-transparent while keeping the outer leaves in fancy mode, which can improve performance in dense forests, particularly when using shaders. Solid provides the same optimization without aggressively merging leaf meshes, while Hollow greedily removes vertices inside trees for a more traditional culling approach, with a greater visual trade-off.
