Sound Culling is a client-side Minecraft mod that reduces repetitive audio clutter in busy areas such as farms, spawner rooms, and machinery, without changing gameplay or requiring installation on a server. It tracks recent sounds across nearby spatial cells and weighs factors such as repetition, source activity, category, distance, direction, and overall event rate to decide whether to dampen a sound or stop it before an audio channel starts. As sound activity rises, adaptive limits can become more aggressive, while per-source fairness keeps one noisy machine from consuming the regional sound budget. Looping and tickable sounds are reevaluated with gradual volume changes, and player feedback sounds receive added protection during ordinary culling. Music and relative sounds, including interface audio, are excluded from culling. The mod offers Balanced, Performance, Aggressive, and Custom presets, plus settings for adaptive thresholds, category limits, spatial tracking, priorities, and logging. Its Live Sounds inspector shows recent sound IDs and activity statistics, and lets players create rules to protect sounds, adjust their priority, or always cull them; wildcard patterns can target individual sound groups or entire mod namespaces.

Changes the game's code in 1 area: SoundChanges 2 game code files in this area: playing sounds, music and the sound engine..
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files without running them.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends, in the 17 of its 18 files we read
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code
The author declares AI code on Modrinth.
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
