About
Stargate Network adds technology inspired by Stargate SG-1, centered on Stargates that provide instant travel over long distances and between dimensions. Gates can be used without external power or optionally powered with IC2 or Forge energy, and can be dialed through a DHD or controlled by ComputerCraft and OpenComputers computers. Players can use handheld Personal Dialing Devices to save, name, and select gate addresses for automatic dialing; server owners can also prepopulate devices with commonly used destinations. Handheld GDOs let players open or close local and remote iris defenses, inspect the remote iris state, and disconnect a wormhole. A Configurator provides per-gate settings for power use, dialing and travel rules, iris behavior, and other options, while administrators can restrict gate addresses and control which players may use gates or operate iris systems. The mod includes standard and Pegasus gate designs, horizontal gate layouts, and optional generation of Stargates in structures such as villages, Nether Fortresses, Ocean Monuments, igloos, jungle temples, pyramids, and swamp huts. For power setups, ZPMs can supply Stargates, and an IC2-only ZPM Hub can hold three ZPMs, with multiple units increasing its power tier and optimization level.
