About
Swashbucklers adds a fleet of craftable pirate-era ships for sailing and transporting goods, with most ships available as relatively inexpensive early- to mid-game options. The fleet includes the basic Swashbuckler, a fast one-seat sailing boat; an Upgraded Swashbuckler with improved visibility, storage, and a cannon; a slow, inexpensive Raft with ample cargo space; and the Cutter, a swift, durable merchant ship with substantial storage and passenger seats. The Weaponised Cutter trades the merchant ship’s peaceful role for two side cannons and a mortar while retaining its speed, cargo capacity, and multiple seats; the Pirate Cutter is a black-sailed, skull-and-crossbones variant of the Cutter. Ships are piloted with directional controls, and damage has visible consequences: Cutter sails can tear and slow the vessel, while damaged cutters enter a further damage stage and can be repaired with a spanner. Combat options include a handheld cannon and ship-mounted weapons that use cannonballs or mortar ammunition, with the mortar offering a longer-range, higher-angle shot. A large steam Corvette is also present as an incomplete, command-spawned ship rather than a finished survival option, so it is not part of the currently obtainable fleet.
