About
Terra Incognita is a configurable exploration and world-generation mod that adds plants, trees, biomes, food, and practical items to Minecraft worlds. Its new landscapes include Boreal Forest, with tall larches and snowy or clearing variants, and Ginkgo Grove, a subtropical mountain biome where ginkgo trees grow; it also adds a tundra with multicolored grass, bushes, and caribou moss. The added vegetation ranges from biome-specific flowers such as alpine edelweiss and gentian, swamp water flags, and savanna irises to hanging moss, swamp reeds, and sweet pea vines, while apple and hazel trees provide harvestable apples and hazelnuts. Butterflies flutter through the world, sometimes resting on flowers; players can catch them in bottles, and wearing a flower wreath lets them approach without scaring them away. Foraging is supported by baskets with a 3-by-3 inventory for compatible items such as small flowers, saplings, mushrooms, eggs, and berries; held baskets automatically collect eligible pickups, and baskets can also be placed down. Swamp peat can be used as fuel or tilled into farmland, where it accelerates crop growth, while fern fiddleheads can be eaten or added to suspicious stew to adjust the duration of its effect. Other additions include flower-colored wreaths, wicker mats and lanterns made from swamp reeds, and foods such as candied hazelnuts, berry sorbet, and kelp soup. The mod also connects with other content mods, including Quark wood and storage blocks, Botania's Horn of the Wild support, and Farmer's Delight pantry, cooking, and cutting recipes.
