ViaFabricPlus is a client-side Fabric mod for multiplayer that lets a modern Minecraft client connect to servers running a wide range of older and newer protocols, adapting gameplay to make older versions feel closer to their original behavior. Its supported server protocols cover modern releases, Combat Test 8c, Beta, Alpha, and Classic servers including CPE, as well as April Fools versions such as 3D Shareware, 20w14infinite, and 25w14craftmine. Protocol translation includes fixes and adjustments to movement, block breaking and interactions, entity behavior, sounds, and graphics, addressing differences that can otherwise make older servers play incorrectly on a modern client. A protocol-selection screen organizes versions into categories such as Modern, Legacy, Beta, Alpha, Classic, and April Fools, with version search and settings for general, visual, and advanced translation options. Bedrock server and Realms connectivity is provided by the separate ViaFabricPlus Bedrock addon rather than the core mod.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.

Only some of its files send your player ID and unknown data.
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code
Claude Code is named in the files of its repository.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
.claudePossible signThe tool was seen around the project. This does not show that it was used to make the files you download.: A AI instructions file (AGENTS.md) file AGENTS.mdPoint at or tap a version to see its loaders.
These projects do not work together with ViaFabricPlus: their authors or ViaFabricPlus' author say so. If you install both, the game can crash or some features can stop working. Some of them do the same job as ViaFabricPlus, so you only need one.

Mods that modpacks often add together with ViaFabricPlus. Share: how many of the modpacks with ViaFabricPlus also have that mod.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 5 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This counts in the grade, but it is too few to lose points.
