Flint tools replace wooden tools and make the early game tougher.

Wooden Tools Are Dumb replaces the wooden pickaxe and tree punching with a flint-based start designed to make the first steps of survival feel more believable and rewarding. Find flint in gravel and sticks to craft a flint hatchet for gathering wood; the mod ensures at least three flint pieces in the first ten gravel attempts, then returns to ordinary drop chances. In its default hard mode, reaching cobblestone becomes a short survival challenge: establish shelter and food, make a gravel-and-stick firepit for light and cooking, then use flint javelins to face the first night and obtain the black powder needed to blast nearby stone into cobblestone. The firepit holds one piece of food and can be extinguished and relit, while the flimsy javelins are intended to be made in multiples for the first night. Options also provide a simpler route in which a flint pickaxe can mine stone, or a mode that leaves cobblestone gathering to another mod; once you have cobblestone, the mod steps aside and the rest of the game proceeds normally.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 2 blocks, 7 items, 1 projectile, 14 recipes and 6 advancements.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Replaces 1 of vanilla Minecraft's advancements.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
