Ancient Warfare: Horizons is a fantasy adventure and combat modpack for solo play or multiplayer, built around survival in a challenging world and the choice to roam as an adventurer or establish and expand an empire. Players face banshees, bandits, undead, hostile factions, and dangerous caves while exploring crypts, ruined castles, and cultist sites across reimagined terrain. Ancient Warfare II and Apotheosis support city-building, resource production, research, siege warfare, training facilities, and armies, while craftsmen can build large structures from blueprints. Magic draws on EBWizardry and Ancient Spellcraft, letting players specialize in up to four elements, while Devoritum offers a way to resist or counter magic; trinkets, enchantments, and custom gear add further combat options. Mobility and warfare extend from wallrunning and jumping enchantments to player-built Valkyrium airships, propeller planes, rocket-powered grappling hooks, and redstone cannons, with flight systems tied into Ancient Warfare research. Players can develop cities alone or recruit allies and rivals through FTBTeams, and combine siege weapons, diverse armies, chemical warfare, spells, dual wielding, and headshots in multiplayer conflict. An introductory quest book explains the main systems and offers useful starter items, but leaves much discovery to experimentation.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 21 May 2022). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 15 May 2022 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 160 of its 161 mods, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of 160 of its 161 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 5 of the 83 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
78 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
