Craft For Life Edition is a survival-focused modpack inspired by The Walking Dead, built around the challenge of managing a more realistic life in a zombie-threatened world. Survival starts with making tools from flint and stones rather than punching down trees, while a bare character has only nine inventory slots and small stacks, making backpacks, toolbelts, and carrying containers useful. Temperature, thirst, and four changing seasons shape day-to-day survival, and realistic terrain generation with latitude-based climates encourages moving between warmer and cooler regions as the seasons change. Injuries can affect specific body parts, and serious wounds can cause blood loss; bandages, morphine, and rest help recovery, while combat includes headshots and stealth attacks from behind. Zombies can track players by sight or smell, are drawn to torchlight, and become more widespread at night; bites can cause infection, so darkness and nighttime travel carry particular risks. The world also replaces villagers with human characters that can interact, marry, and have children, and adds more than 100 animals, including village dogs and cats, rescueable pet variants, and tameable foxes that can help find ores or blocks. Food gathering and cooking expand through crop growing and hundreds of dishes, while movement options include climbing, swimming, crawling, and squeezing beneath low spaces. Exploration includes improved Nether biomes, mobs, and items, as well as craftable outfits, new equipment ores, shields, traps, rails, and six playable musical instruments. To reach the End, players gather eight biome-specific gemstones from underground, hunt four rare undead creatures in their designated locations, combine the resulting materials into Ender Mud, and bake it into Eyes of Ender.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 27 Jul 2022). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
2 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 25 Aug 2021 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 146 of its 148 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of 146 of its 148 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 4 of the 65 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
83 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
