A horror modpack where something stalks you through the caves.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 76 graded mods, 67 are graded A or B, 9 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 9 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
From the Caves is a lightweight horror modpack centered on the From the Caves mod, bringing a stalking entity into underground exploration. The entity progresses through four phases that introduce new events and challenges, and can alter blocks, trigger buttons and levers, and build in the world. After its first encounter, it may begin climbing out of the caves, extending the haunting beyond the underground. The mod includes flashing light effects that may affect photosensitive players, which can be disabled with its photosensitivity command.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 25 Jan 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 8 Dec 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 76 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
7 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 75 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 4 of the 65 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
10 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its description and found none.
We have not read its changelogs, files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
