RLCraft is a hardcore survival and adventure modpack that reshapes Minecraft around realism, RPG progression, and exploration, with custom tweaks and scripts intended to make its many systems work together. Survival adds thirst and temperature management, with seasonal and biome-specific conditions, while food no longer restores health; wounds instead call for crafted or found salves, bandages, plaster, and more advanced medikits. Getting established also changes familiar routines: players gather flint, sticks, and plant fiber to make basic tools, must use suitable tools to harvest blocks, and need to manage water, shelter, and the danger of a vulnerable first night. Skills and XP shape progression: skill requirements gate the use of equipment and activities, while a separate specialization tree grants perks such as faster sprinting, stronger melee attacks, stealth, and quicker smelting. Exploration is central, with randomized ruins and structures, abandoned shelters, challenging dungeons, battle towers whose loot improves as players climb, and new underground biomes and cave generation. The world is populated by biome-specific Lycanite’s Mobs, dragons from Ice and Fire, and rare Infernal Mobs with dangerous magical abilities; some Lycanite creatures can also become pets or mounts. Combat brings new weapons such as warhammers, battle axes, spears, daggers, and nunchaku, while crafted equipment receives randomized qualities that can be rerolled at a reforging station. Other notable changes include torches that must be lit and can burn out or be extinguished by rain, enhanced maps and compasses in place of normal F3 coordinates, and a revamped Nether. The pack also includes more than 340 optional quests, alongside new enchantments, potions, item qualities, and custom crafting and smelting recipes.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 27 Jun 2023). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 12 Apr 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 186 of its 187 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
7 mods send something about you
We read the code of 176 of its 177 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 6 of the 104 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
73 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
