Brings the classic console edition experience to a newer game version.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 82 graded mods, 78 are graded A or B, 3 C and 1 D to F. Its last update came out 13 days ago, for Minecraft 26.3. See the mods
Simply Legacy is a modpack that recreates Minecraft’s Legacy Console Edition in modern Java Edition, imagining how the console experience might have developed with continued content updates. It brings together Legacy-style crafting and menus, controller input, adjustable gamma, manual saving, console-inspired settings presets, and options for limited world sizes and biome scale. The pack includes Legacy mash-up worlds, most Legacy Console texture packs, skin packs, and the Programmer Art Continuation Project, along with custom achievements, sounds, and Minecraft logos. For minigames, it currently offers Glide and Fistfight, with the latter provided by Minimega. Optimization mods aim to deliver performance beyond vanilla Minecraft, while built-in access to the Re-Console Network lets players join Survival, Creative, or Anarchy servers.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 26.1.2 · Fabric, 12 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 2 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 82 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 54 of its 55 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 55 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
