A Wither Storm adventure with shaders and smoother performance.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 90 graded mods, 75 are graded A or B, 12 C and 3 D to F. Its last update came out 8 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
The Wither Storm - New Horizons is a modpack built around the Wither Storm challenge, pairing the boss encounter with visual enhancements and performance-focused additions. The included Wither Storm mod features a powerful boss that grows more menacing through successive stages and ravages the landscape, making the fight an escalating challenge. Shaders enhance lighting and shadows, water reflections and waves, skies and weather, and material details; the pack also includes resource packs intended to improve the Wither Storm’s appearance and animations. Rubidium and other performance optimizations are included to reduce rendering lag and support smoother play, while shader settings can be adjusted to suit different hardware capabilities.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 20 Feb 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 92 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 57 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (20 Feb 2026) in the 57 mods we checked.
6 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
