Derivative is a Minecraft shader focused on realistic visuals, with a broad set of configurable lighting, reflection, shadow, sky, and post-processing effects. Its lighting options include LPV and FloodFill, colored-block and glass light propagation, and voxel reflections with adjustable tint, emissive lighting, relighting, indoor behavior, and reflection styles. Reflection features also include world reflections, bloom, anamorphic lens effects, and the ability to use voxel reflections alongside or instead of screen-space reflections. Shadows include point voxel shadows, voxelized shadows, and screen-space path-traced block-light shadows, alongside reworked shadow options. The atmosphere includes a reworked aurora with selectable styles and End support, a new sky and skylight, and updated End fog and lighting. Water physics has selectable styles and additional settings, while post-processing offers chromatic aberration and configurable lens flares, including anamorphic and world lens flares. The shader supports Voxy features such as indoor and emissive voxel reflections and voxel relighting, as well as resource-pack support for voxel reflections.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
Changes how the game looks: 43 shader programs, for the Overworld, the Nether and the End. Draws its own shadows, water, sky and weather.
Settings in English. Has programs for Distant Horizons and Voxy.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a shader cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A shader has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
