About
Autumnity adds autumn-themed biomes and seasonal wildlife, plants, foods, and building materials to Minecraft. Its Maple Forests are filled with green, yellow, orange, and red maples, huge mushrooms, fallen leaf piles, foul berry bushes, and autumn crocuses; the maple colors shift across the landscape from early-autumn greens and yellows to later-autumn reds and oranges. Pumpkin Fields bring a plains-like landscape dotted with ordinary and oversized pumpkins, sparse maples, and autumn flowers. Snails and turkeys inhabit both biomes: snails retreat into their shells when approached, while turkeys replace chickens and provide meat that can be placed like cake. Feeding snails mushrooms or fungi makes them produce snail goo, and growing snails drop shell pieces that can be crafted into decorative blocks and a special chestplate. Snail goo can be made into a block that sticks to adjacent blocks for piston movement, lets entities cling underneath, and prevents fall damage; its surface turns slippery near water or a wet sponge. Foul berries grow on bushes and can be harvested, while their unpleasant taste makes the next food eaten taste better; turkeys also enjoy them. The mod adds a maple wood set, four colored maple saplings and leaves, and large pumpkins that can be crafted from slices and used in place of regular pumpkins in recipes. Jack o'lanterns have variants made with different torch types, including soul and redstone versions, with redstone-powered lighting for the large slice version.
