About
Hbm’s Nuclear Tech Extended Edition expands the 1.12.2 edition of Nuclear Tech Mod into a technology and atomic-science sandbox centered on building reactors, processing materials, and developing rockets, weapons, and nuclear devices. Its extensive tech tree links utility and processing machines with complex production chains, including oil processing, chemical production, uranium enrichment, and the synthesis of explosives needed to make nuclear weapons and missiles. The industrial machinery includes RBMK and other nuclear reactors, a pumpjack, fracking and catalytic-cracking towers, a vacuum refinery, a hydrotreater, a coker, and machines for founding, liquefaction, solidification, and chemical processing. Players can build and operate missile silos, launch a range of missiles, and create bombs and warheads, from nuclear grenades and mines to modular Tsar devices with multiple explosion ranges. The mod adds hazards and their countermeasures, including radiation, radioactive powders that contaminate the environment, fallout, dosimeters and diagnostic items, decontamination equipment, shielding, and protective hazmat gear. Nuclear events can leave craters, wastelands, and fallout, with fallout rain avoidable when an explosion is contained; explosions can also evaporate nearby water, while wet biomes may flood the resulting crater. Abandoned sites, vaults, and dungeons offer places to explore beyond the industrial systems, including the Vault Dungeon and Meteorite Dungeon. The extended edition also brings visual changes such as emissive textures for some assets, updated appearances for machines, missiles, and bombs, and radiation-proof large doors that can be opened with redstone.
