Midnight Madness turns survival into a supernatural hunt, adding demons, soul-stealing horrors, and an Underworld dimension to explore. Its demon roster includes the Dreamcatcher, Reaper, Hanged Man, Necromancer, Fallen King, Skeleton King, Demon King, Soulseeker, and Underworld Horror, among others; their attacks and abilities vary, with fear effects, soul theft, and other dangers shaping encounters. Some threats have distinctive behavior: the Dreamcatcher can emerge when players sleep at night and inflict Insomnia, while the Fallen King’s head detaches after death and continues the fight. The Underworld features distinct places such as Horror Valley and Necromancer’s Forest, with Cursed Trees and Horror Clot formations, as well as structures and sites including the Necropolis and Survivor’s House. Players can collect souls with a Soul Catcher and use specific souls in Cursed Altar rituals, guided by recipes in the Midnight Necronomicon; the altar also supports weapon and tool curses based on different soul types. Exploration and combat also connect to equipment and crafting: Demonic Ore yields Raw Demonium, and Horror Clots and Soul Strings can be made into Horror Armor, which protects a full-set wearer from the Wither effect. The Apotropaion offers protection from the Reaper and Dreamcatcher, repelling one of them when triggered, while its cooldown can be configured. Compatibility can be enabled in the configuration so mobs from Nonexistent+, Born in Chaos, Alex’s Mobs, and The Twilight Forest also drop souls.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 45 blocks, 126 items, 15 mobs, 3 biomes, 1 dimension, 8 structures, 76 recipes, 42 advancements, 10 loot tables, 96 sounds and 168 key bindings.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
