A horror modpack with dark nights and terrifying monsters.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 211 graded mods, 148 are graded A or B, 40 C and 23 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.19.2. See the mods
World of Fear reshapes Minecraft into a horror-focused modpack with a playable story for solo or multiplayer sessions. Pitch-black nights and caves, unsettling ambient sounds, and monsters on the surface and underground create a tense atmosphere, while an unknown entity stalks players from afar. The creature roster includes threats such as the Weeping Angels, the Corpse Stalker, the Goatman, and the Man From the Fog. Longer days and nights, unpredictable lunar events, and seemingly bottomless oceans make travel and survival feel less predictable. Players can explore more than 100 biomes across the Overworld, Nether, and End, with additions including Oh The Biomes You'll Go and Endless Biomes. Exploration also reaches expanded or added structures, including better desert temples, dungeons, jungle temples, mineshafts, Nether fortresses, ocean monuments, witch huts, and bridges, as well as the Lost Castle and Graveyard. ParCool! and Shoulder Surfing Reloaded support more cinematic movement and perspective, while the pack also adds new building styles and mechanics. Players can team up through the Essential Mod, and the pack includes quests for guided play.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.19.2 · Forge, 9 Apr 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
3 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 28 Mar 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 211 of its 213 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
7 mods send something about you
We read the code of 198 of its 199 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (9 Apr 2024) in the 159 mods we checked.
11 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
40 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
