Moonlight Lib is a shared utility library for mod developers, providing cross-loader helpers for building features that work across Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge. Its runtime asset tools can generate datapack and resource-pack content, including textures and models, with texture utilities for palette extraction, cropping, reshaping, and recoloring. The Block Set API detects installed wood and leaf types and lets mods register matching blocks and assets for them at runtime, while the Block Color API supports detecting and converting colors for modded blocks and items. Datapack-driven systems let authors add or remove trades for vanilla and modded villagers, including biome-specific variants, and define custom map markers with icons tied to blocks or structures; markers can also be added per player and carry data in map items. Villager AI hooks allow mods to add activities, tasks, schedules, and memory types without replacing existing villager AI. The Soft Fluid system provides data-driven virtual fluids for modded containers such as bottles, bowls, and buckets, and supports consuming drinks or stews directly from fluid tanks. Additional utilities include first- and third-person item animation and rendering hooks, custom baked models, dispenser behaviors that can coexist with other mods' registrations, and helpers for adding advancement triggers when items pass through grindstones. The library also provides a global datapack folder whose contents apply across worlds, plus a Spawn Box block for defining named, structure-specific areas with their own entity spawn pools.

Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.

We read its code without running it: it contacts 1 web address while you play.
Like any connection, each address it contacts sees your IP address.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
An AI tool may have been used
Claude Code, Cursor and 1 more tool are named in the ignore list of its repository.
This does not show that it was used to make the files you download.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
