A library mod for adding End and Nether biomes or structures, and for creating new biome ambience!

Nether API is a library mod that gives developers a shared system for adding End and Nether biomes and structures, while helping biome-generation mods work together instead of relying on separate generation systems. Custom biomes can define generation weights, fog colors, music, surface builders, chunk populators, cave-carving rules, and weighted sub-biomes or edge-biomes; End biomes can also set conditions for Chorus Plants, End Cities, and Small End Islands. The API also lets creators add biome ambience to any biome, including passive or mood sounds, ambient particles, custom lava colors, and End or Nether fog colors. Custom structures can generate across chunk boundaries, set their own spawning and generation conditions, appear in the /locate command, and avoid intersecting other structures. For players, the mod improves End and Nether world generation: caves can carve through Nether biome surface blocks and soul sand, caves can appear in the End’s outer islands, and an optional setting raises Nether height to 256 blocks. It also supports cross-mod Nether generation, including real biome generation for BetterNether and Journey Into The Light, and compatibility with Biomes O’ Plenty, Natura, Nethercraft Classic, and NetherEx. Additional fixes cover dimension spawn and respawn behavior, including support for per-dimension bed spawn points, and help modded End and Nether plants grow on compatible End Stone-like, Netherrack-like, and Soul Sand-like soils.
Written from Modrinth , CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12.2.
Adds 3 blocks: Rooty End Stone, Rooty Netherrack and Rooty Soul Sand.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12.2.
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12.2.
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

More modpacks put it in their new versions than a year ago: 15 a month now, 1 a year agoThe average of the last 6 months, compared with the same 6 months a year before. We say it only when the change is large..
99 modpacks include Nether API in at least one of their versions. Here are the 30 most downloaded.
Mods that modpacks often add together with Nether API. Share: how many of the modpacks with Nether API also have that mod.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. None is for a recent Minecraft version. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 5 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 7 points.
