    VintageFix is a performance mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 that aims to replace and improve on FoamFix, with a focus on reducing memory use and shortening startup time. It reduces block-state and model memory costs by optimizing their data structures and deduplicating redundant model data. Its dynamic resource system loads models when they are first needed rather than all at startup, and can unload models and structure files that have gone unused, reducing runtime memory use as well as launch time. Other optimizations speed up access to mod JARs and resource packs, texture loading, Forge's JAR discovery, and chunk and block retrieval. The mod also includes targeted fixes and quality-of-life changes, including preventing freezes when exiting a world or tab-completing commands with very large item lists, and using modern-style names for duplicated new worlds.
