About
Performant is a configurable optimization mod that reduces Minecraft performance problems, especially server-side lag such as slow-moving entities and delayed block drops, in both multiplayer and singleplayer. It lowers AI overhead, multithreads entity collisions and pathfinding, culls entities that are not visible, and speeds up recipe lookups, random block ticks, chunk ticks, and mob spawning. The mod also addresses lag from leashed entities, hoppers, inventory checks for advancements, and entities loading chunks unexpectedly. Its configurable options include entity density, dynamic entity simulation distance, limits on scheduled block updates, entity-type restrictions, and login and in-game timeout settings. It can be installed on either the client or server side, and its changes are designed to work with most mods, though the source identifies Lithium, Roadrunner, Canary, and WYML as incompatible.
