About
Prometheus is a fire-systems API and gameplay framework that lets modders and datapack creators add custom fire types with consistent behavior across supported mods. Registered fires can define their damage or healing, emitted light, whether rain extinguishes them, associated fire-source blocks and items such as torches, campfires, and lanterns, and custom effects applied when entities take fire damage. The framework handles how entities catch and burn from each fire type, including the matching damage and visual color, and keeps related mechanics such as zombies and arrows targeting the correct kind of fire. It also supports optional, datapack-configurable Custom Fire Aspect and Custom Flame enchantments that apply the corresponding fire type. Data packs can register fires from other mods without an additional mod, making them easier to add to worlds and synchronize among players, though this method cannot add custom damage sources. Prometheus powers Soul Fire'd and Copper Fire and has integrations with Torch hit!, Danger Close, and Camp Fires Cook Mobs.
